Tubes and such

2 dissectors

Actual prototypes. Note the hemispherical ends, a flat end is desirable as it would not distort the image, but flat ends were thought to be too weak to withstand the vacuum in the tube.

Dissector, replica

A replica of the first dissector, hemispherical end is emblematic of the first tubes

Improved dissector

Cliff Gardner showed all the glass blowers of the time that a flat lens end COULD be made to withstand the rigors of vacuum. Nobody told him otherwise I suppose.
