| After years of ovations, promises and hubris from many producers, and a couple screenwriters, to produce a movie everyone was positive would be a great work and a compelling story, and all the enthusiasm caught fire ... but ... the fire went out rather quickly: the Hollywood motion picture community is skittish and fickle. A beautiful story, but they did not know how to write it. | |

| In a trip to attend the Emmy Awards, Pem posed for a photo with Thomas Schlamme on her right and Aaron Sorkin on her left. Schlamme was director/producer for THE WEST WING (nbc) which was Aaron's creation and most episodes were written by Aaron as well. (photographer unknown) | |

| After all this time and work the story comes
to life, but will they get the facts right? This story
works best when it is told exactly how it happened, the audience will
make the assumption that the facts as presented in the theater are real
events ... historically factual, unfortunately, it deviates way beyond
"license" which a playwright may bend in hopes of better theater.
This play reaches a summit with the patent battle between Zworykin and Farnsworth, which is appropriate if you are focused on one phase of Farnsworth's life. In the play Zworykin/RCA is awarded the victory, and rules against Farnsworth, when in truth it was the opposite ... Farnsworth was awarded all the points in contention. It was a 1st, up till that time no one had ever won such a battle with RCA. RCA files two appeals in subsequent years and both of them were refused. It was great press at the time, and is much better theater. |
